Having played inside linebacker for “Linebacker U” under the direction of the all time greatest college coach, Joe Paterno and his elite defensive coordinators, I have lived the dream of many. I know what it takes both mentally and physically to dedicate yourself to the sport of football. Now I want to share my knowledge with young athletes.

Through my years of training and playing, I have learned that the only way to become a great linebacker is to PRACTICE BEING A GREAT LINEBACKER.

I am familiar with training programs across the country that offer much in the line of strength and/or speed training.  What makes my Linebacker Training unique is that it is specific to the Linebacker position .  Therefore, I have chosen the most important linebacker drills to use in my training program. The drills will:

  1. Teach how to tackle properly
  2. Attack the line of scrimmage efficiently
  3. Move down the field with quickness and speed
  4. Teach how to bring down ball carriers with force
  5. Maximize your body strength
  6. Increase agility
  7. Teach proper footwork and hand placement technique
  8. How to take on and defeat Blocks 
  9. How to study yourself on Video
  10. All while Minimizing injury

The LINEBACKER Training  Programs: 
Rookie
This program is for a beginner linebacker. This Program allows me as the personal LB coach to work one on one with the athlete. We will review the importance of the position and how it affects all positions on the team as a whole. I will focus on aspects of the player's development and teach the fundamentals needed to start as a great linebacker.
 
We will work on position specific field work drills.

Scholastic
This program is for the more experienced linebacker. The program is designed to go into greater depth with the athlete.
 Scholastic linebackers will train with an individualized, linebacker-specific program designed to increase power, burst and explosion. Time will be spent on the field doing drills and exercises without pads. These exercises will concentrate on reading and reacting, improving reaction time, short- and long-distance speed and taking proper angles. Some video work will be incorporated.

Collegiate
This program is for the current Linebacker preparing for their upcoming season. It will improve the physical skills needed to get to the next level. I will
 establish a core strength and flexibility training program along with sharpening their motor skills and movement patterns to maximize their playing time. At this stage, the athlete and I will be fully aware of the individuals physical abilities. Now its time to lay the mental foundation required to play at a higher level.

Football Fundamentals (Group Sessions)
Ages 7-18
This program is for small group training. Players will be grouped based on age, experience and skill level.  Training will foster learning through peer interaction and competition. The program includes basic football fundamental development, speed and agility training, sport specific training and character development.

 Combine Training
This program is for football players that want to improve their testing times. As the personal LB coach I will focus on combine testing drills. Use specific techniques to achieve top ratings in the combine. For example the 40 yard dash, shuttle run and  all other combine testing drills.
